Blended Emergency First Aid at Work +Sport (UKA)

UKA (UK Athletics) has revised its policy on First Aid provision for Coaching Assistants and Leaders to align with the Health & Safety Executive under Civil Law and Duty of Care. As of April 1, 2023, all UKA licensed Coaching Assistants and Leaders will be required to have an appropriate level of First Aid training, based on the activity and environment in which they operate. This training will need to be renewed every three years in line with the re-licensing process.

To meet these requirements, White Rose Training offer a Blended Emergency First Aid at Work + Sport course. This half-day course meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is suitable for low-risk work environments such as shops and offices.

The course includes additional elements specifically tailored for running leaders and coaches. These additional topics cover paediatric and drowning CPR protocols, as well as dealing with soft tissue injuries and fractures.

The course structure involves an e-learning module followed by half a day's face-to-face practical training course. The practical training can be conducted at a location of choice or at one of the training centres in Leeds, Huddersfield, or Barnsley, provided by White Rose Training, which is a UKA approved centre meeting UK Athletics Category B requirements.

Another possibility for completing the course is to undertake it over 7 hours of face-to-face training. This option allows for a more concentrated learning experience and can be conducted at a venue of your choice or at any of the training centres provided by UKA. This option might be preferable for individuals who prefer a more immersive and hands-on approach to learning first aid skills.
